Bite!

Blog

Welcome to my blog. This is where you get to learn about me and what I feel like ranting about at the moment. If you know me, you know I have a lot to say about stuff. This is my chance to just spit it out and, just maybe, get some feedback about it. Take a minute and read what I have to say. If you want to respond, well, that is what comments are for.

It took just shy of 2 months, over 20 phone calls, 4 attempts to contact a supervisior, and more then 3 hours on hold. But I did it. I got my money back. I beat the man.

MLB, as in, Major League Bullsh*t (Part 800)

I spoke to someone Friday who informed me that my "case" had been "elevated" to the "supervisor" and that I would receive a call within 48 hours. I waited 4 days. Today I called them back and sat on hold. I was told that a supervisor would call me within an hour. I waited 2 hours. I then called back, got put on hold, and finally -- GLORY BE TO GOD* -- I talked to the almighty supervisor.

MLB.com: The Neverending Story

Yes, I am not lying. I am still trying to get my money back from these people. After more then 20 phone calls, a grand total of over 3 hours on hold and more then 6 weeks -- still no money. My latest quest is to get in contact with a supervisor. However, I have learned that there is only 1 supervisor and "she is very busy."

"How busy?" you ask? Well, at one point I was told there were 15 people in line ahead of me to talk to her. I am not kidding. This is in their cancellation department alone. I have had my "refund request" "resubmitted" 3 times at this point. Apparently there is a "backlog" for this kind of thing.

SUCCESS!!!???? (MLB, Part 4)

After only 28 more minutes on hold, I finally got to talk to a person!

I was so excited to talk to a person that I totally forgot all the evil things I had planned to say and all that came out of my mouth was, "WOW, I get to talk to a PERSON!" She apologized for the "wait" (an understatement if I do say so myself), then asked what she could do for me. My response: "I want my money back." She then replied, "Can I ask what your email addess is?" I told her what it was and she said she would cancel my subscription and refund my money and that the money would be back in my account in 7 to 10 business days.

MLB, as in, Major League Bullsh*t (Part 3)

Little bit of success, I am on hold again. I have been on hold for 7 minutes at this point, we shall see who gives up first! Yes, I modifed this blog entry. Apparently, if a blog entry is too short, is screws up my layout. Who-da thunkit?

MLB, as in, Major League Bullsh*t (Part 2)

I tried calling the MLB again several times over the course of the afternoon. Their phone was busy. That's right. Busy. Like when you call someone and they don't have call waiting and they are on another call type busy. I finally got home and called again, only to discover that, despite the fact their website says their customer support is open from 9:00am till 12:30am, I got a message that they were closed. The message told me they closed at 3pm pacific, which is 5pm central. I had called at 4:59. Sounds like they kicked out a bit early.

I am going to send them another email. Like it will help. I doubt they even check their inbox.

MLB, as in, Major League Bullsh*t

I think MLB.com has ousted AOL from the most horrible customer service ever spot. Last year I ordered MLB All Access for the "low, low, price" of 100 bucks for the season. I thought it was a bit high, but I went with it so I could watch/listen to my Cubbies from work (rescomp) while I was working. It worked out alright, but I didn't really do anything but listen and I didn't do it a lot. Plus, with my new job, I can't listen to or watch streaming media while at work, so there is very little point to having the package this year. I just happened to read one of the ads they sent me the other day and discovered that whether I liked it or not, they were going to automatically sign me up for another season of All-Access. In the process, they would automatically charge my credit card. I didn't like this, because I think it is a bit underhanded, but they did give me an email address to which I could use to cancel my subscription within the first 10 days of the regular season (which started this past weekend).
