First of all, I don't agree with Number 1 (refurbished computers). Refurbished computers are a good deal for exactly the same reason they claim they are a bad deal. Computers depriciate in value faster then anything but milk. A $3000 computer today will be $400 in a couple years. However, because of how little power is needed for simple tasks such as surfing the web or writing papers (the 2 things people mostly use their computers for) a 2 year old computer would suit most people fine. My parents are very happy with their 8 year old computer. Why spend $2000 on a computer when a $300 computer will do just fine?
