A couple weeks ago, messages started showing up around campus asking "do you agree?" I thought to myself, probably not. This Monday, a URL started showing up along with the messages: www.iagreewithkyle.com. I thought to myself, "hmmm, sounds interesting." So I went to the site and it was a site for Campus Crusade for Christ. Kyle was giving his testimonial about his faith. I am not much of a religious person, but I love a good debate, so I took the initiative to register www.idontagreewithkyle.com. I didn’t even need to chalk the quad, people started showing up within hours. So I put down my own beliefs on the subject and added a little comment system.
Pretty soon the comments came rolling in. I had about 5 comments by the end of the day. At this point there are more than 30 comments, all pretty extensive and some very well thought out.
About 3pm yesterday, I went to go check www.iagreewithkyle.com and discovered, to my dismay, the site was down. I figure that there is no reason for a parody of a site that people can’t view. So I got in contact with their webmaster and we spent several hours working out the difficulty and finally got their site back up this morning at about 1am. I must say that the whole experience has been pretty fun. I have learned some web programming tricks, gotten more DNS experience, and had a lot of fun while I was at it. The iagreewithkyle webmaster is a pretty cool guy and I am looking forward to meeting with him. He is a talented programmer and has some cool ideas.
I love to hang out with people who have differing viewpoints, as long as, in the end, we can all agree to disagree.
